This bat had the extra pop i was looking for right out of the wrapper! i am a hard hitting line drive type hitter, so i live in the gaps and a hard hit ball over the outfielders heads. this bat gave me exactly what i was looking for. now when i hit a line drive at an outfielder thay will take a step in to get it and the ball will carry over their head before they can turn around to get it. i am consistantly putting balls to the fence with line drive shots. i have a friend who also bought this bat; he is a home run hitter and his homerun swing looks to be at ease with this bat and he now even has lazy fly balls carry out of the park for him with this bat. i’ve always been a Demarini Guy, but this bat has converted me. this is a very well balanced bat with an extremely nice sweet spot!

    Core Review:
I’ve owned this bat (28oz version) for 2 years, spaning aproximately 250 games, and since I always let my teamates swing my bats, it has easily over 1500 hits on it by now. It’s still going strong and has a lot of pop, with no rattle. It’s been well worth the money and I expect to be using for at least 2 more years. I’ve recommended this bat for purchase for many of my friends who like swinging composite bats and those who’ve purchased one have been very happy with it. I’ve also purchased a 26oz Freak Plus for those long tournament days or when I start getting tired :) …and it’s also been a great bat.

    More Details:
Good composite bats will increase their performance as more hits are put on them. Often people talk about the “break in” period of a bat, and for composite bats this is usually the time between unwrapping the bat until the player feels it’s performing at a satisfactory level. Since there is currently no readily available consumer based measuring technique to define “performance” or what “satisfactory” is, it’s usually a gut feel. But a general rule of thumb is that around 200-300 hits, a composite bat will be noticeably better than when first unwrapped. The Freak Plus is no exception. Be aware, there are better bats out there but this review is not an attempt at comparison, just a stand-alone opinion of what I feel is a great bat.

Good luck, and swing hard! :)

I have used this bat for 2 seasons now. Everyone on my team uses it and loves it. Great durability 10/10 and great distance!!! The Freak Plus is one the best USSSA bats out there and the best for your money. I have approximately 1000 hits on mine and it is hotter than ever! Great bat, you won’t be disappointed.

I bought the bat in March 07, and broke the bat in April 07, I have never had a bat break before. I got the replacement bat after my season ended and then this year, I took it out on a sunny day for the season opener and started to warm up with the new one and it broke in the same place. I hit maybe 100 hits with my freak plus. There is poor quality on this bat.

And the warranty is over now.
